Principal's Opportunity Fund

Principals can use donated funds to help underprivileged children have opportunities that would otherwise be out of their reach.

Project Sweet Dreams distributes backpacks filled with comfort items such as a stuffed animal, a soft snuggle blanket, a book, etc., to children through existing social services. 

At any given time throughout our country there are children arriving at these facilities with nothing more than the clothing on their backs. We want them to know someone cares about them! We hope to provide comfort to these children during difficult times of crisis. 

Get Involved: Please contact us if you can donate new or gently used stuffed animals and books or new blankets, or if you know of other organizations who have children we can help.

Our partners in this program include Young Men’s Service League (YMSL) South Loudon (packing the backpacks) and The Girl Scouts (provided school supply backpacks).

Project Healthy Snack
Project Healthy Snack is a collaborative effort between A Little Heart and Fauquier FISH (For Immediate Sympathetic Help). 

Volunteers deliver healthy snacks to the schools for children in need. 

Project Healthy Snack also provides snacks for Marshall Community Center After School Camp. Children who need extra help, but are unable to afford additional tutoring, are selected for this enriching afterschool program.
Principal's Opportunity Fund
Donations to A Little Heart’s Principal's Opportunity Fund are given directly to Principals at Fauquier County Schools. The Principals can use the funds to help underprivileged children have opportunities that would otherwise be out of their reach. Some of the ways in which principals have requested funds in 2019 include:
  • One month of tuition for a homeless student to attend the local Karate Academy. This has helped this student with managing their anger and outbursts.
  • Tutoring
  • Two student admissions on the class trip to Jamestown who could not afford it.
  • A homeless family’s transportation needs by filling the gas tank.
  • Lice kits
  • One month of tuition for a homeless student to attend the local Karate Academy. This has helped this student with managing their anger and outbursts.
